Five Feet Apart | Book Review #1

Greetings!

To cope with my 'gabut'ness, I decided to -finally- make my second post to this blog. And I decided to finally start doing apparently, the second most enjoyable thing in my life: reading, and then write my honest review about it.

The book that I recently read and LOVE is Five Feet Apart by Rachel Lipppincott, Mikki Daughtry and Tobias Iaconis. Yes, there are three authors.

Judging by the cover, we would know that this book is making it's way to the theaters, which already on air since March 15th 2019, which is 1 week ago!! And I gotta say that the movie is a real tearjerker and bittersweet. But there's so much more than that. The movie is pretty well done by director Justin Baldoni, as well as Cole Sprouse and Haley Lu Richardson as co-stars. Personally, I enjoyed the movie A LOT. And it did quite justice to the book, which I really LOVE.

The story is about two 17 years old teenagers named Stella and Will. They both have Cystic Fibrosis, a genetic disease so they must stay at least six feet apart from each others at all times. Less than that, their life are at risk at being danger, and Stella can kiss her hope for lung transplantation goodbye. They met at Saint Grace Hospital, and instantly become attracted and in love with each other. Those distances has become torture methods for both of them. So one day Stella made a big change to their lives, that is to 'steal' one feet of distance so they can be five feet apart of each other.

I never read a lot of romances and young adults, because usually I read non-fiction or self-help books. So I didn't know that I can enjoy a book very much like when I read this book. I laughed, cried (so much), and the most important thing is I got to feel what the characters are feeling. Also how cystic fibrosis patients have to 'live for their treatments'.

And the ending?
Gosh, I freakin' love the BOOK'S ENDING.
I'm telling you, this doesn't mean that both has different endings. They're one and the same, but the book's ending slightly brings 'hope' for their readers. The hope for Stella and Will still had the chance to be together. In the movie, it's like they closed the door shut for both of them.

This is the first time in my life that I get to read the book before it's adapted into a major motion picture. I love the feelings of getting into the theaters and despite already knowing the story to the movie, you still feel excited and expect something that you can't get just from reading the book.

To close this post, I think I'm gonna give the book 4/5* .
